Ballymartin and Ballymascanlon Hotel Wedding | Una & Seamus
Thursday, October 22 2009 | in For Brides, Wedding Photographs

Una and Seamus were simply a delight to work with – I’m so blessed to have such lovely clients!!
They tied the knot earlier this month in the beautiful St Joseph’s Church in Ballymartin, County Down and then travelled to Ballymascanlon for their wedding reception. Una got ready at her parents beautiful new home less than a mile away from the church. Saint Joseph’s itself, is one of those places that can offer up very challenging lighting conditions. Lots of low directional autumnal lighting outside, combined with a long narrow design, featuring lots of dark wood and large bright windows, can give many photographers plenty of trouble. However, with a bit of thought and creativity and an understanding of light, the pictures can be magical. I have to say that Una and her four bridesmaids looked like they enjoyed every single second of the day! These are some of my favourite images: |

My thanks go especially to Una’s Mum, Maureen and Dad, Dan for welcoming me to the house in the morning and to Father O’Hare for officiating in what was to be his last ever wedding, before he retired.
With best regards, |

Clandeboye Estate Bangor Wedding | Claire & Simon
Sunday, October 11 2009 | in For Brides, Wedding Photographs
|
On 26th September I was back in Bangor, North Down for Claire and Simon’s wedding at Saint Comgalls and their reception up at Clandeboye Estate. Their little pageboy was mystified at everything, Claire looked simply stunning and the church had this beautiful low light that I love to work in. Simon got very emotional at the end of his speech and that sparked a few tears from Claire – what a moment! Yesterday, I got a lovely message from them on honeymoon after they’d seen their photographs. I can’t wait to see them both when they return. Here are some of my personal favourites from the day.

Dylan – what great photographs – I absolutely love the last dancing shots – just killer and no flash used?

Belfast Castle Wedding | Gemma & Scott
Friday, October 2 2009 | in For Brides, Wedding Photographs
Last Friday I was back in Belfast to photograph Gemma and Scott’s wedding at Holy Cross and reception up at Belfast Castle beneath Cave Hill. Gemma’s Mum and Dad are originally from Belfast and had moved over to York in England more than thirty years ago. So it was great for them all to be back and meet up with friends and family. I later found out that Gemma’s parents (and grandparents on both sides) also got married at the very same church – which must have made the wedding all the more personal. I just love hearing stories like that. Here are some favourites as I continue the editing.

Big thanks to Scott and Gemma, Matt and Bethany and everyone else I met at the wedding. Hope to see you all again soon!
Best regards, Dylan

Beauquesne, Amiens, France Wedding | Laetitia & Eric
Friday, September 25 2009 | in For Brides, Wedding Photographs
Last weekend I was in Picardy, France for Laetitia and Eric’s wedding in the beautiful village of Beauquesne just outside Amiens about an hour north of Paris. Here are some photographs from the day.

Laetitia and Eric have three beautiful daughters and a son – the most beautiful kids you could ever imagine. All of their little friends were also at the wedding and it just made for a great atmosphere. My favourite moment was their exit from the Town Hall – the kids at this wedding were in a complete dream.

Thanks Laetitia for the lovely words – the music in the slideshow is from the French Suites by Johann Sebastian Bach! xo

Larchfield Estate Wedding | Kate & Brian
Friday, September 11 2009 | in For Brides, Testimonials, Wedding Photographs
Last week Kate and Brian married at the wonderful Larchfield Estate in County Down.
Here are just a few of my favourites from their day.

After the wedding I received this lovely email from Kate’s Mum:
Dylan
First of all, many thanks for being so easy to have around on Thursday, both in the house and at the wedding. I’m sorry I didn’t get talking to you more and particularly before you left, I would have liked to thank you personally at the end of the day. I hope you weren’t too tired and even though you were working I hope you managed to enjoy the day. As you probably know, Kate and Brian will be on honeymoon until the 29th Sept but all the family are dying to see the photos whenever they are available. She suggested to me that I should e-mail you to ask you would you mind e-mailing me to let me know when some of them are printed on your ‘blog’ or general web site. (It might then stop my other daughters checking your web-site every couple of hours to see if there are any available!) We will certainly be recommending you to others for future weddings, and I’ll be telling them we hardly knew you were there. I’d love to hear any comments you have about the day but I’m sure your photos will tell the story. I look forward to seeing them as I know they will undoubtedley bring back the great memories of the wonderful time we shared with family and friends. Thanks again. Ann (Kates mum)
Ann – it was a real pleasure and I hope these photographs find you and the family well. A slideshow and album predesign to follow shortly.
With best regards, Dylan

Narrow Water Castle Wedding | Victoria & Dan
Monday, August 31 2009 | in For Brides, Testimonials, Wedding Photographs
When Dan initially phoned me from London last year I just knew this wedding was going to be pretty fantastic! We seemed to be right on the same page when it came to choosing a photographer who was going to creatively document their day without intervening or staging anything. They loved my natural approach to weddings and I was pleased to meet them over in London earlier this year. Victoria & Dan brought friends and family over from London and Chelmsford for their wedding in Warrenpoint and Narrow Water Castle. It was, to quote that oft-used word, awesome.

Victoria sent me a lovely email after she had seen her pictures online.
“Hi Dylan, hope you’re well. Just wanted to say a massive thank you – just checked out the photos and they look AMAZING, we love them. We didn’t know what to expect having not asked for any set photos (even though that’s what we wanted). And we kept saying to each other, ´Did you see Dylan taking photos? Do you think he got one of this/one of that?´ But you obviously were – but quietly, in the background, like some kind of photography ninja! We love the way you work and I think the pictures look perfect. You made our day really special and we can’t say thank you enough (but we’ll try). |
