Armoy & Culloden Wedding | Aine & Shane

Shane and Aine asked me twice if I would shoot their wedding before I confirmed the booking last year. Being already quite busy last December, I was at first a bit reluctant to take on another wedding over my busy Christmas period. But the warmth of their personalities really convinced me and I’m really glad I got to shoot their wedding.
I had an absolutely brilliant time with them and I left that night with a contented heart. Shane remarked to me at the Culloden that Aine had said that I was practically invisible at the house in the morning – which was music to my ears as I pride myself on going into any situation anywhere and being completely unobtrusive whilst getting my pictures. The weather was cold and icy with the last of the 2009 big freeze showing no signs of abating. Amongst the highlights for me was getting to help Aine, her bridesmaids and her little flowergirl to their wedding cars waiting at the top of the street (it was too icy for them to come down to the door). I was glad they all made it safely! St Olcans in Armoy was packed to the rafters and the atmosphere at the Culloden later on was wonderful also. Again, I kept the formals to an absolute minimum and set about most of the day finding great moments. Here are a few of my personal favourites as I continue the editing: |

Old Inn Crawfordsburn Wedding | Roberta & Graeme
Monday, November 2 2009 | in For Brides, Testimonials, Wedding Photographs

This wedding was so beautiful. Roberta and Graeme got married at the Old Inn in Crawfordsburn, County Down. The Old Inn is one of those venues that just suits small intimate weddings. Bo & G had just 20 guests (including me!) and so it was a very intimate affair! I have to say that I just love shooting indoors at this time of year. I love the warm colours and the cosy atmosphere of winter weddings.
As a soon-to-be parent, this wedding really hit home to me the importance of family. It was lovely to see their daughter Dara helping Mum get ready before the service. Their son Eoin was a real livewire too. I’m glad Graeme’s family made it over from Aberdeen – especially with his Father being ill. It was so touching to be part of this wedding. Here are some of my personal favourites: |

Yesterday I received a lovely email from Roberta after she had seen her photographs: “Dylan, Love it love it love it Graeme is travelling to the Caspian sea right now so won’t see the photos till tomorrow. Haven’t time right now to say all I want to but a big thank you for starters. Will be in touch. Bo (Roberta)” |

Larchfield Estate Wedding | Kate & Brian
Friday, September 11 2009 | in For Brides, Testimonials, Wedding Photographs
Last week Kate and Brian married at the wonderful Larchfield Estate in County Down.
Here are just a few of my favourites from their day.

After the wedding I received this lovely email from Kate’s Mum:
Dylan
First of all, many thanks for being so easy to have around on Thursday, both in the house and at the wedding. I’m sorry I didn’t get talking to you more and particularly before you left, I would have liked to thank you personally at the end of the day. I hope you weren’t too tired and even though you were working I hope you managed to enjoy the day. As you probably know, Kate and Brian will be on honeymoon until the 29th Sept but all the family are dying to see the photos whenever they are available. She suggested to me that I should e-mail you to ask you would you mind e-mailing me to let me know when some of them are printed on your ‘blog’ or general web site. (It might then stop my other daughters checking your web-site every couple of hours to see if there are any available!) We will certainly be recommending you to others for future weddings, and I’ll be telling them we hardly knew you were there. I’d love to hear any comments you have about the day but I’m sure your photos will tell the story. I look forward to seeing them as I know they will undoubtedley bring back the great memories of the wonderful time we shared with family and friends. Thanks again. Ann (Kates mum)
Ann – it was a real pleasure and I hope these photographs find you and the family well. A slideshow and album predesign to follow shortly.
With best regards, Dylan

Narrow Water Castle Wedding | Victoria & Dan
Monday, August 31 2009 | in For Brides, Testimonials, Wedding Photographs
When Dan initially phoned me from London last year I just knew this wedding was going to be pretty fantastic! We seemed to be right on the same page when it came to choosing a photographer who was going to creatively document their day without intervening or staging anything. They loved my natural approach to weddings and I was pleased to meet them over in London earlier this year. Victoria & Dan brought friends and family over from London and Chelmsford for their wedding in Warrenpoint and Narrow Water Castle. It was, to quote that oft-used word, awesome.

Victoria sent me a lovely email after she had seen her pictures online.
“Hi Dylan, hope you’re well. Just wanted to say a massive thank you – just checked out the photos and they look AMAZING, we love them. We didn’t know what to expect having not asked for any set photos (even though that’s what we wanted). And we kept saying to each other, ´Did you see Dylan taking photos? Do you think he got one of this/one of that?´ But you obviously were – but quietly, in the background, like some kind of photography ninja! We love the way you work and I think the pictures look perfect. You made our day really special and we can’t say thank you enough (but we’ll try). |
